Suicide and Suicide Attempts in Europe: Results from the WHO / EURO Multicentre Study on Suicidal Behaviour

Edited by psychologists and psychiatrists affiliated with the U. of Wuerzburg, Germany and Griffith U., Australia; this work reports on a 14-year epidemiological study sponsored by the World Health Organization and conducted to assess the magnitude of suicidal behavior in Europe and to identify groups at risk. Five introductory chapters describe the history and aims of the study, explain definitions and terminology used, and offer overviews of sociodemographic data on suicide and suicide attempts in Europe.
