Technology Futures and Global Power, Wealth, and Conflict

This report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies finds that technology is a defining factor in the international community on political, economic, and social levels. It also finds that the very advances in technology that promise significant advances in development are also threats in terms of global security risks and increased global competitiveness. Balancing those two situations, whether in the long or short term, is essential in reducing want without also creating it, and the attendant inequity and violence as side effects.
