Maine: A Portrait is the result of Lucian Niemeyer's desire to explore the Maine viewed by his inspiration, Eliot Porter. Laid out geographically, from the coast to the north woods, the book includes Niemeyer's photos, in addition to excerpts from Rachel Carson and Louise Dickinson Rich.
