World Geography

Geared toward high school students and undergraduates, the set emphasizes geographic interconnectedness such as how Brazilian weather affects US coffee prices, and global warming threatens island nations. Volume one covers geography as a field of study and as it applies itself to studying the world. Each of the following six volumes tackles a particular landmass (Asia, Europe, Africa, etc.) and each of these are divided into sections covering the area's major regions, physical geography, biogeography and natural resources, human geography, economic geography. The 8th volume contains a glossary, a comprehensive index uniting the indexes of the individual volumes, and 17 appendices that include topics such as oceans and seas, largest countries by population, major rivers, and highest waterfalls.
