The collection consists of the best of his early works -- Sukhodol, The Last Rendezvous, Apple Fragrance, The Gentleman from San Francisco -- and stories written in his last years -- Leka, Sunstroke, Shadowed Paths, and others. They may be called stories about love and about the unforgettable Russian landscape.
