Evan Roberts gained worldwide attention through the 1904-05 Welsh Revival. Charles Parham preached the modem Pentecostal baptism in the Holy Spirit, and William Seymour spearheaded an international Pentecostal movement from Azusa Street in Los Angeles. This spawned new denominations worldwide and opened the way for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, as independent charismatic networks built megachurches, Bible schools, and introduced televangelism into people's homes.
