Namesakes, 1930-1955

Namesakes 1930-1955 becomes the 12th book in the "Namesakes Series" because so much data has come to light since the previous edition published in 1978. This book contains 14% more vessels with 62 added that were not known to fall into this time period. These include steamers as well as little-known barges and miscellaneous craft. Vessels on the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River that existed in the quarter century between 1930-1955 are included in this volume. These are factual photostories on ships that delivered raw materials and finished products to the heartland of North America. If a vessel existed on the lakes after January 1930 but was gone from the lakes by December 1955, it is included in this book. Small craft less than 100 feet in overall length and other non-cargo carrying craft are not included.
