Mark Twain in Virginia City, Nevada

The internartionally known author portrays the life in Virginia City: mining litigation, horse breaking, fighting a tarantula, a funeral, and the "Washoe zephyr" windstorms. He mined for silver, labored in a silver mill and was a reporter for Virginia City's Territorial Enterprise newspaper. Numerous line drawings which depict scenes of everyday life are interspersed with the text.
