Better Felt Than Said: The Holiness-Pentecostal Experience in Southern Appalachia

Some of the residents of Southern Appalachia adhere to a strict moral code and worship God by "speaking in tongues." Better Felt Than Said is an in-depth ethnographic study of how families living on the economic periphery of American society make sense of the disease, tension, and uncertainty associated with poverty.
