Cycling Los Angeles takes you from the boardwalks and harborside streets of the coast, to the byways of inland Los Angeles County, with plenty of beaches, parks, canyons, mountains, rivers, and lakes along the way. The book contains descriptions of 85 on-road rides, from short family jaunts on separated bikepaths, to more challenging workouts, all the way to a few "gut-buster" adventures for the most physically fit bikers. Altogether, there are over 1,100 bike miles described! Detailed maps make it easy to find every route, and tour listings show the distance, level of difficulty, road conditions, and elevation gain (if any) for each ride. There are plenty of photos and notes on landmarks, attractions, campsites, and other paints of interest.
