New Medicine

After the Comanche defeat at the battle of Adobe Walls, young Walker is among the Indians traumatized. He wants to be a warrior, but troopers are sending his people to reservations, where a grueling winter leaves them sick, hungry and humiliated.

Walker seeks spirit medicine to help his people, but receives no signs. Like most of his people, Walker believes Indian medicine is all gone. Through his friendship with a Fort Sill doctor, he learns to combine Comanche and white "medicine" to help his people. How Walker finds a compromise between the white man's culture and his own is a dramatic story.
