Sam S. Souryal is professor of Criminal Justice and Ethics at the College of Criminal Justice, Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He received a BA degree in Education from the American University in Cairo, a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the State University of New York at Albany, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. He is the author of Police Administration, and Ethics in Criminal Justice: In Search of the Truth.
Professor Souryal has a special interest in the study of ethics, comparative religion, and terrorism. He focuses on the role of justice in a civil society and the potential for violence. He is a regular presenter at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT), and the American Corrections Association. A multi-lingual professor, Souryal has lectured in the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, England, Germany, and Belgium.
