From Beatings To Blessings

Kamala Sabaratnam relates the true story of her idyllic childhood in Sri Lanka and how she grows up hoping to have a good education leading to an interesting career. Her father thinks otherwise, however, and she is given no choice but to submit, at the age of sixteen, to an arranged marriage. Her husband is a man twice her age for whom she feels only apprehension. Her fears materialise into brutal reality as she is continually mercilessly beaten. After escaping, Kamala finds a new life. She discovers the reality of Jesus, who gives her peace, protection and love. Kamala's experiences of Jesus are uniquely wonderful.
