The Orchid Field

A beach. A body. And a disgraced cop. Looming in the distance, the offshore oil rigs that have brought a new evil to the Mexican backwater of Port Luz. Inspector Miguel Cortez eyes the rigs warily: he knows his political masters won't want to upset the new oil money in town, but this could be the case to rehabilitate his career, his reputation, and his marriage. This could be his ticket out of Port Luz and back to Mexico City. Cortez is convinced the dead body on the beach is linked to the oil rigs, and when British oil analyst, Catherine Davenport, and a mysterious American known as Charlie Decca start to show an interest in the rigs, Cortez can no longer ignore his instincts. Cortez must use all his experience and skills as a cop if he is to overcome the odds and crack a dangerous criminal conspiracy.
