Ava- Marie Swanson is eight years old, with a life threatening illness, which affects her life and the family around her. She tells us her story herself, through her own thoughts and imagination, and from the first page to the inevitable end, she reminds us all of the true meaning of friends and family.
It is hoped that her story will help bring healing to, and ease the prospect of death for, those who are facing it themselves, and those who have a loved one who is seriously or terminally ill. It is also a useful tool for opening a dialogue, and examining the subject of illness and death, with the inquisitive child.
