In this 2nd Edition of the same title, Dermot O'Callaghan's concerns about the research data of the Royal College of Psychiatrists' submission to the Church of England's 'Listening Exercise' on human sexuality have been expanded by an additional contributor. Dr Peter May addresses the College's submission to the Government's Consultation on Equal Civil Marriage, which recommends same-sex marriage as a Public Health strategy. However, the evidential basis for this is greatly overblown, while wider public health issues are ignored, concerning both same-sex partnering and parenting. His concerns are significant since the Royal College makes one of the few submissions purportedly based on accurate scientific data. The authors accuse the College, which is the leading medical authority on mental health in the United Kingdom, of misleading both Church and State by using bad science to propagate gay ideology.
This booklet also examines claims made by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the UK Council for Psychotherapy to the effect that feelings of sexual attraction towards persons of one's own gender cannot be changed by therapeutic means.

It questions the evidence on which these bodies have based their ethical positions and offers cautious hope for those whose life goals include the reasonable wish to marry and raise a family.
