Journalist White met Archie Campbell in the early 1970s when the Australian veteran returned to East Timor to search for the bodies of several young East Timorese, criados, who had been companions to the Australian commandos and killed by the Japanese during World War II. Drawing on Campbell's diary, conversations during the search, and other sources, he reconstructs the campaign. There is no index. Distributed in the US by ISBS.
