Once upon an Isle: The Story of Fishing Families on Isle Royale

Howard's first book is autobiographical and focuses on the life he was born into - growing up in a fishing family on the remote island of Isle Royale. Forty original color paintings depict the seasons and holidays, the boats and the buildings. All showing the world of family togetherness as it used to be. Once Upon An Isle started the tradition continued with his books The Illustrated Voyageur, Tales of the Old North Shore, Schooners, Skiffs & Steamships and Driftwood.
