Eden, on Indian River Drive about two miles north of the Jensen Beach causeway, preceded and spawned Jensen - today's Jensen Beach, Florida.
Vintage photographs help tell the stories of pioneer families and those who followed and developed Jensen Beach as a fishermen's Mecca. Featured subjects include the Indian River, Jensen Savannas, pineapple and commercial fishing industries, Florida East Coast Railway, St. Lucie Inlet and the mile-long wooden bridge to Hutchinson Island that helped turn the area into a vast tourist camp.

This book is well worth the cost. It is exquisitely designed, beautifully printed and handsomely bound. As a history book, it is timeless in its appeal.
Sandra Thurlow, a former school teacher, found her niche in 1987 when she began to research Sewall's Point, Florida, where she lives. She has been researching, studying, collecting, and publishing local history ever since. Her avocation is satisfying to her because she feels she is doing something of lasting importance by preserving material that might otherwise be lost. All the while she is learning, acquiring new skills, and meeting and working with a wide variety of interesting people.
