Sandra Thurlow, a fifth generation Floridian, has lived in Sewall's Point, Florida, since 1974. Becoming an author of local history books was not something she envisioned. When a lovely old Sewall's Point home was demolished in 1986 she realized her community was losing an important part of its history. Her questions led to discoveries that needed to be compiled and shared. She was particularly amazed at the numerous historical photographs she was able to collect. When Knight Kiplinger, of Kiplinger Washington Editors, Inc. longtime owner of Bay Tree Lodge on Sewall's Point, said he would help, her course was set.
Copies of the 1992 edition of Sewall's Point had been unavailable for several years and are often requested. With the Town's 50th Anniversary approaching it seemed appropriate to celebrate the 2007 occasion with the republication of its history.
