The Reluctant Disciple

Christ's devoted disciple Simon Peter has returned to prepare the way for the Second Coming. His work will culminate in an event known as the First Supper, a grand spectacle in which Jesus gathers all his Apostles and ushers in a new millennium of peace, prosperity and goodwill. To do this, Simon teaches that spirituality is one's personal pursuit of the divine and is not tied to any particular religious tradition.

His star student, book publisher Skylar Sevens, finds this idea at odds with her strict Christian upbringing. Over time, however, Simon teaches Skylar to express her sacred feminine energies through her own spirituality and rise above the rigors of organized religion. What's more, Peter elevates the issue of equal opportunity to an unprecedented level and challenges Skylar to investigate possibilities considered impossible by the present belief system. As a result, the divine energies inside of Skylar's soul awaken and she begins to understand the very nature of God.

But powerful forces are aligned against them. For strong-willed Skylar, she faces the emotional battle of a troubled past, the truth behind her father's death, and the return of her cancer. Simon Peter faces an ancient threat, sinister men who will stop at nothing to prevent the Second Coming. Simon and Skylar must reach deep into the power of their souls to overcome the daunting obstacles they face.
