A comedy of manners about a young man and a single mom who picks him up hitchhiking and they suddenly decide to live together and explore the viability of romance in the context of parenting. This is the first novel of the "My Years of Apprenticeship at Love" sextet which spans 30 years. Four other books in the series have already been published by Hitmotel. This one is set in Montreal, the man's home town where he intersects nodes of Proustian time going back into his own family. He comes to understand the function in the title which is also a cognitive metaphor structuring the mindscape of the book: Sex is the Antigravity of Metamorphosis.
