About the Author

Garry A. Flint was educated at Indiana University and, in 1968, received a doctoral degree in experimental psychology specializing in learning. He ended up in Ukiah, California, where, after working with abused teens for six years, he became a staff psychologist at the county mental health outpatient clinic. He continued to work with abused children and adults. Here, he began to search for treatment techniques that worked faster than Behavior Modification. He obtained extensive training in hypnosis and Neurolinguistic Programming. Later, he was the program manager of a psychiatric health facility where he was able to work with severely disturbed persons. In 1987 he started a private practice. In 1990 he was further trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Before moving to Canada in 1994, he took the diagnostic training for Thought Field TherapyTM (TFT) and later learned the Tapas Acupressure Technique.
