Wreck of the Beatrice

This is the story of the menhaden steamer Beatrice after the September 15, 1903 hurricane along the Atlantic Seaboard when the ship went down and everyone on board perished. While the menhaden industry is by no means a "safe" industry, with men and boats being lost and men getting hurt, it is unusual that all hands are lost. Mysteriously, the Beatrice was the only steamer on the Atlantic that went down that day. The book is the result of extensive research on what could have happened.
