The CanMEDS Physician Competency Framework describes the principle knowledge, skills, and abilities of physicians oriented to optimal health and health care outcomes. The framework identifies the seven multi-faceted Roles physicians will be called upon to play in their professional duties: Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator, Manager, health Advocate, Scholar, and Professional.
