Magnet Springs is a quiet little Michigan resort town enjoying leaf-peeping season, at least it was until a dead body turns up on a massage table and thirty-something realtor Whiskey Mattimoe finds one of her properties has become a murder scene. As her attempts to adjust to a new life as a widow are complicated by a kleptomaniac Afghan hound and her neglected eight-year-old neighbor, Chester, Whiskey becomes ensnared in a complex web of murder, identity fraud, dognapping, and art forgery.
