Robert J. Elinskas of Utica has just published his latest Adirondack book, Into the Woods with Adirondack Sportsmen. The book, which is Elinskas' sixth book and his fourth on wild Adirondack adventures, features stories on several well-known hunters and trappers from the areas of Lows Lake, Stillwater Reservoir and the Moose River Plains areas in the Adirondack Park.
Included in the book are profiles and stories by Jim Massett, who has been giving seminars on how to successfully track Adirondack bucks for 37 years; Jim's father, Ray, who began a hunting legacy back in 1932 when he first started hunting deer on the Moose River Plains; Retired forest ranger, Terry Perkins, who talks about trap lines at Stillwater Reservoir and Lows Lake; as well as professional trapper Johnny Thorpe, who provides an interesting history of trapping in the Adirondacks for bounty and fur.
The book, which is illustrated with numerous color photographs, has 196 pages and is available at a number of retail locations throughout the Adirondack Park, as well as at Barnes & Nobles in New Hartford.
