A TV journalist searching for a short story documentary discovers the trail of five German trained saboteurs from World War II. All five were inserted onto U.S. soil during the war by submarines and all five remained in the U.S. after the war. For over sixty years these five men living in the U.S. became naturalized citizens, started successful businesses, raised families, and were positive influences on the communities in which they lived. One man, Christolph Hoffmann, became an ordained minister and legendary pastor in western North Carolina. This man's life story recounted many of the experiences of the 371,683 German POWs interned in the U.S. during WW II. Not all German military men during WW II were staunch, hardened Nazis. In the large POW camps in the U.S. the differences were such that Nazi Germans had to be separated from non-Nazi Germans. This book discusses these little known facts of recent American History.
