Buffalo's GardenWalk is the largest garden tour in the nation, and the only one of its magnitude that can actually be walked. More than 340 Buffalo gardeners open their gardens to the public during the last weekend of July each year as part of one of Western New York's most anticipated summer events.

The GardenWalk Buffalo book includes interviews with 27 gardeners, as well as photos of more than 80 additional gardens. There is a photo section for the gardens of Frederick Law Olmsted's Delaware Park, a spread on community gardens, a list of selected plants grown in Western New York (Zone 5), a history of Garden Walk Buffalo and its impact on local urban gardens and how it helps rejuvenate city streets, and even a brief bit on how to start your own garden walk.
It is also significant that this book documents and preserves for posterity many of the gardens, parkway circles and old growth trees of Buffalo prior to the damage incurred during the devastating storm of October 2006.

But there's only so much a book can do to depict an experience as interactive as GardenWalk. As you glance through the DVD's contents, still pictures start to move and the viewer moves with them. Follow the cameras of our videographers as they walk through gardens and talk to the master gardeners who have created these exceptional spaces. All that's missing is the scent of the flowers. By simply selecting a dot the Garden Walk map, access more than 20 individual interviews with gardeners, who provide hints on all aspects of gardening, from individual plants to overall garden design. This beautiful book was photographed by Don Zinteck, of Photographics2; written by Elizabeth Licata, editor of Buffalo Spree magazine; and designed by Jim Charlier, of JCharlier Communication design. The DVD was produced by Cheryl Jackson and Brian Milbrand. For more information on GardenWalk Buffalo, visit www.gardenwalkbuffalo.com/
