Although mental illness is no laughing matter, Joey Chou succeeds with humor in educating readers on 26 of the most obscure and popular mental illnesses mixing dark humor and stylish illustration. Each page goes through the alphabet defining each letter's respective illness along with a funny situational statement about a kid who is suffering from the illness. A clinical definition of the illness is then provided. The style of the book has an antique or old movie feel to it reinforcing the darkness of the subject. The use of kids adds the human element and helps keep the book light-hearted and fun. This book is versatile enough to be a teaching tool for children or as a funny coffee table book for adults. Everyone will find this book entertaining and enlightening. This is Joey's first book that he's both written and illustrated and has plans to do others in the "Crazy" kids series.
