Forged Gentleman

Life in the early 1700's is quite comfortable for the Graham family, with a good home, social position and a bright future for their son Phillip. Life, however, quickly changes when Commander Graham is mysterously dismissed from Naval Service. Unable to cope with the degrading change of life, Phillip leaves home to find his own way, with hopes to be able to help his parents. In leaving, there are many things left behind, including his best friend, Priscilla.

Having led a privileged life, Phillip soon finds life on the streets mean and unforgiving. Survival tugs at his sleeve with every waking minute. Desperation finall leads him to become a bound apprentice to a shady engraver and later sold to a n unscrupulous ocean freight trader. But even misfortune is not without a ray of sunshine as he meets the demure Agatha who lives and works at a small inn owned by her Aunt. Suddenly, with no apparent reason, thugs make an attempt to kill him. Desperate to find an escape, his thoughts focus on the skills he learned as an apprentice engraver. He could forge most anything.
