A weekend trip to Washington, D.C. turns tragic for Sarah Parris and her best friend, Terry Hannon, when Terry dies under curious circumstances. Once home, Sarah's behavior becomes oddly different. Two weeks later, in an inexplicable act, she is shot dead by police. Shocked and bewildered, her widower husband, Michael, heads to Washington, D.C in a quest for answers to his wife's aberrant behavior. His journey takes him to rural Virginia where he finds the answer in a violently dangerous man with an insidious agenda.
