The Roaring Fork Valley, extending from Aspen to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and its side valleys and surrounding mountains provide many opportunities for winter activities. Everyone is familiar with the downhill skiing opportunities, but the unlimited potential for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and winter hiking are less familiar to most. The ski mountains provide uphilling possibilities, the Nordic centers offer outstanding packed trails for cross-country skiers and snowshoers, and the many trails and roads leading into the mountains give winter locals and visitors many routes to enjoy and explore on their skis and snowshoes, or on foot.
Winter Trails gives winter information and descriptions for the routes on the ski mountains, at the cross-country centers, and in and around the Roaring Fork Valley.
