Assisting In Love

Alan Capelli plays Robert Bowman, a high-rolling playboy, on the hit TV series Rio. At 45 he's hitting his prime in Hollywood. Gina Sanders, a highly qualified executive assistant doesn't hide her condescending and flippant feelings about the celebrity world. She waits for Mr. Capelli in The Blvd Restaurant at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons hotel for her appointment. During the interview, Gina intrigues Mr. Capelli landing her in his employ. Realizing she's much more than he bargained for, he's soon in awe of how she's able to organize his chaotic life, finally making sense of it all.

One kiss while rehearsing lines is all it takes to make them both question their feelings for each other yet they struggle to make their employer/employee relationship work. Gina is attacked by the media after Alan tells Benny to "Make it happen no matter what" and a press announcement is made. She does her best to steel herself from the barrage of questions, statements and out right lewd comments, but each night, Alan feels her silent tears upon his chest.

Thrown into a drunken tailspin when he learns that his TV series has been canceled, Alan's drunk and sometimes abusive lifestyle comes crashing down while Gina clings to their son Ryan in the nursery. Begging Gina to stay, Alan begins treatment in order to rebuild the inescapable bond between them. Session by session they piece their lives back together again, finding the love they have for one another is stronger now more than ever.

Their attempts at becoming pregnant again prove futile and Gina tries to come to terms with the reality of it all when there on the supermarket's check stand is The Star's Weekly headline, "Dried Eggs and Sperm". Now enraged, Gina lines Beverly Marks up in the crosshairs of her sights and sues The Star's Weekly and Beverly for slander.

The readers are teleported twenty years later to find Gina recapping their life, their love and even through the ups and downs of it all, she wouldn't have missed the ride for anything.
