Our Jamaica

Jamaica is undeniably one of the most glorious places on the planet and this is precisely what lures thousands to visit the island each year. Given such beauty, many travelers dream about the lives they might lead if they lived in Jamaica permanently. But what would it really be like? What aspects would be most enjoyable and what would be the most challenging? These types of questions captured the curiosity of seven students who signed up for a study abroad anthropology course in Westmoreland, Jamaica in 2009. With local Jamaican students as one-on-one teachers, the stories found in this book offer a tiny glimpse into what they discovered and mark the beginning of new friendships and a genuine appreciation for the country, its history, and the human family.
