Author, Nola Only, introduces us to Nayla, the main character of this captivating story. As you enter Nayla's world, you will soon realize that you want to stay around and discover what will happen next. The players are amazingly real; and their intriguing stories are filled with insights into managing the struggle between good and evil...
Right along with Nayla we experience her right and wrong choices and the self-affirming or difficult consequences that resulted from them. Through this intriguing story, we come to realize that we often give our lives to God without knowing or getting to know who he really is in us. The word instructs us to be hot or cold. There is no balance between flesh and spirit, for it is a battle. This portrait tells how Nayla came to know God: through trials and tests. Though she believed in his word and wanted whole-heartedly to serve him, troubling circumstances caused her to make decisions that catered more to her flesh. Nayla spiraled downward as she continued to yield to worldly seductions and carnal ways. Her battle between flesh and spirit caused her to ignore warning signs because of personal ambition. She struggled to achieve a goal while pursuing salvation.
After continuing to fall short, she recognized that she had to persevere until the end. It is then that Nayla began to understand, through her own testimony, that "He who endures to the end shall be saved". She also recognized, first hand, that the wages of sin is death. The one message that never left her thoughts and helped her to make it through trying times is when the Pastor's wife said to her "Babygirl, Once you have tasted God the way that you have, you will never be comfortable in sin again." Nayla knew she had sinned against the true light and was led astray into darkness that also led to a lifestyle of drugs, money, obscurity, prostitution, rebellion, and vengeance against all who ever dared to cross her the wrong way. After indulging in so much despair, Nayla soon realized that she is married to God because he is married to the backslider and divorce is not an option because neither she nor God wants a separation.
