The Repossession

Joel Harcourt is just a child, but he has moments of insight and wisdom only a person of maturity and age can have. These glimpses give him a far greater understanding of the world around him than any boy his age should have, which isn't necessarily a good thing. He isn't able to process all the evils and wrongs he sees in the world, which drives him into a deep and dark depression. As he struggles to find relief from his overburdened conscience, he turns to remedies that only make matters worse and drags him farther into a pit of despair—and to unleash the madness that has pursued his family for centuries.
