Shadwell's Slaves

In the late 1700's Jake Spooner and a group of educated "Flat Hatters"of all ages gather in secret to devise a plan to illegally transport slaves to Canada.Shadwell's Slaves is the story of how they risk their lives and their reputations as they acquire the resources to spirit slaves away from Thomas Jefferson's Shadwell plantation. In the dead of night they begin their arduous trip north under the cover of darkness.
