The journal of Jan Englebrecht

Jan Englebrecht treks into the Kalahari Desert in 1852 hoping to make his fortune hunting for ivory. His expedition goes hopelessly wrong and he has to rely upon the help of resident Bushmen to survive. The story is told through references to the journal he keeps during that time.
