Opening the Gates of the Heart: A Journey of Healing is a book of photographs of wrought-iron entrance gates and inspirational prose that tell the story of my powerful and enlightening journey from the depths of despair to joy and inner peace. In its pages, the photos and prose relate to the uplifting character of true inner strength and the understanding of one's inner path, as well as to the helplessness and utter despair that one's soul may endure.

This book's creation has a unique twist. I unknowingly wrote much of the prose before I even discovered the gates. Several months after photographing them, I realized that the words written in my journals actually gave voice to many of the images I had taken.

Creating Opening the Gates of the Heart gave me great pleasure, as well as joy and peace. The process of completing the book led me down the path of enlightenment and, through that, my life was impacted on a positive level. It is my hope that by joining me on the journey, you will also experience joy and peace.
