ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
I was born in April 1961 in the Bronx. I was the middle of five children of John A. Anderson and Delores
E. Lewis. I was raised during the end of the civil rights movement. I attended P.S. 62 and I.S. 52 in the
Bronx and graduated from Park West High School in
Manhattan. I later joined the navy and served three and half years. I've been through ups and downs and eventually landed a job doing parking assistant work on movie locations. Then, after several years, I started working for
NYCTA as a cleaner in 2001, a position I held until
2006, when I injured myself on the job. Now, I'm retired and writing. So sit back, relax, and read on.

I was born in Queens, New York, in June 1964. I am the oldest of five. I attended New York public schools and graduated from Jamaica High School in 1983. I
then gave birth to my daughter. While attending college in Queens times were hard raising a child and attending school, but I finished with just one thought on my mind: I can do it. Later in my life, I got involved with children. I first started volunteering at a local hospital that had children's corners where they could wait and play while their parents or other siblings were seen by doctors. Then I became an educator for children. I am now an assistant program director of a after-school for children in New York City schools. I was inspired to start writing by a friend. So readers, as PercyLee said, sit back, relax, and enjoy and learn something.
