Joy Out of Ashes

Is it possible for Christians to suffer despair, a question of his or her faith, and heartbreak? Since marrying seven years prior, Abraham and Anna Staats have enjoyed an idyllic marriage until 1775, when they are thrust into the horrors of the Revolutionary War. Joy out of Ashes centers on the Staats family, and their friends, while enduring life on the battlefield and on the home front. They soon realize that as Christians they are not immune to turmoil. Abraham and Anna, through extraordinary faith in the Lord, persevere through many devastating situations. However, they will come to recognize that the Lord is in control, and no matter what shall befall their family, the Lord will bring joy out of ashes.
