Purdie Magee

Purdie Magee grew up as a modern-day Cinderella in the small town of Parker, Ohio. Unfortunately, this life was no fairy tale and the family was her flesh and blood. Groomed to be the family caretaker, Purdie looked after her mother and father, even raised the baby her sister abandoned. Red-headed, lanky Purdie spoke too loudly and possessed an awkward physical presence.
Her mother's blind adoration of Purdie's older sister underscored the sense of unworthiness. Purdie fully expected to continue making do with her lot in life, but one spring morning change walked through the door.
