Kat Emmons wants answers...

Kat's school newspaper articles expose corruption within the local police department and school system. Unknown to the troubled 18-year-old journalism student, those revelations ignite a series of nefarious events that lead to murder and mayhem in the northern Michigan community of Baylor. No one is safe; no one is protected.
Schools face an October shut-down; a house fire and death raise questions; farmers battle TB-infections in deer and cattle herds; and the peaceful community experiences four murders within 24 hours. Is there a single missing bridge-an answer-that connects these events? Kat wants to know.

Locked away in an unknown location are incriminating school documents and a confidential report that will explain everything-but Kat has lost the key. Will she find the key and answers before more people die? Can she save the troubled town from further despair? And will the anxious teen find peace and the truth about her own identity? Will she discover:
