The Content of Human Consciousness: Images and Illusions

This collection of essays examines how humanity's current level of brain evolution generally perceives life through a screen of imagination. Those who self-centeredly pursue security and pleasure following this false view of life will find that such pursuits inevitably result in personal and cultural conflict.

An imagined "me" is the primary illusion in our personal consciousness, which gives a feeling of separateness from all other "selves" and from life iteself. Sensing this difference, humans feel deeply isolated, a symptom that is mostly held in check by illusions and distractions.

There are times, however, when our perceptions seem to come from somewhere other than images in consciousness, bringing clarity and a release from our habitual way of seeing.
