Barely a Dream

Homicide detective Thomas Kelly finally had everything he'd ever wanted-adoring wife, beautiful children, including a new baby, and his dream job. But recurring nightmares portending tragedy cast a pall on his perfect life.
When his beloved sister, Judy, goes missing after a dinner date with her mysterious new boyfriend Carl, Tom realizes the increasingly vivid and disturbing dreams were a dire warning. Carl's unsavory past catches up with him when a trio of maniacal brothers, victims of one of Carl's scams, tracks him down, catching Judy in the crosshairs. A scorned lover also follows Carl to Springdale, and her long-simmering desire for revenge proves to be equally dangerous.

Tormented with guilt for not protecting his sister, Tom is determined to find Judy and those responsible for her disappearance-especially Carl, who brought mayhem and violence with him to tranquil Springdale. Tom is torn between his need to exact vengeance, and the needs of his family, including Judy's two children who've already lost their father.
Tom's wife, Mary Beth, no stranger to adversity, must adjust to being a stay-at-home mom, and a cop's wife, while facing the shocking return of a nemesis from her past.
Tragedy will again test the Kelly family. Will it pull them together, or tear them apart?
