When Hope Was Gone

Mob violence turns Laura Sutherland’s idyllic life upside down the night before her wedding in 1966. Fleeing from the Cincinnati Mafia with the help of a Franciscan monk, she believes she can live undetected as a nurse with a medical team in Africa. Amid political unrest and brutal murders of innocents in Ethiopia in 1977, friends urge her to leave before the violence gets worse. Laura must choose to risk everything to return to Cincinnati for the sake of an orphan girl or remain in embattled Africa. When a hippie and a computer geek uncover Laura’s true identity, someone from her past terrorizes her in a game of cat and mouse. She must decide to either keep running or stand up to the twisted mobster whose favorite weapon is fire.
