This book is not a reconstruction plan for the United States of America's vast system of roads and bridges. Instead, it is a very simple collection of commonsense, low cost and no cost ideas that could or should help the system last longer. A little longer useful life for roads and bridges could buy some much needed time before the money is found for major improvements and replacements.
