The Luminosity

Poetry. THE LUMINOSITY was inspired by poet Bonnie Rose Marcus' visits to men and women in home hospice, hospice units, as well as in nursing homes. The poems are intimate portraits of their dying, balancing the gritty reality with the transcendent. The poems reveal a deep connection made between the poet and those dying. Marcus brings us face to face with José, Dr. Singh, Jazzman and a host of other strangers to witness the delicate moments and charged seconds between life and death. These particular deaths illuminate for the reader a continuity. These are strangers we get to know through the medium of poetry. The poet has ventured more than halfway across the bridge: in THE LUMINOSITY, she brings us with her.
