Moments of My Life

This autobiography of the life of Dean Greene includes many "coming of age" stories about the life of a teenager in the 1960s and 1970s. Attempting to come to grips with the world around him, and sharing many experiences with friends along the way, the stories mature as the author matures throughout his life--a story of struggles, blessings, and the importance of family. Dean writes, "In a very real way, these moments (and others like them) are my life. They're all I have to prove that I actually lived last year - or any other year. Without them I would simply be counting birthdays. Not only do these captured moments of our lives enable us to live and touch other lives and continue to have an impact in the future, but they also contain the seeds of civilization and our only hope for a better future for the species. To be ignorant of what has happened before is to remain forever a child - whether an individual, a nation, or a species, and to fail to learn from the mistakes made and the knowledge gained by others is to be forever lost, in the most profound sense of the word.
